"A society must assume that it is stable, but the artist must know, and he must let us know, that there is nothing stable under heaven." - James Baldwin

I was born and raised in Queens, the most diverse borough in New York City. People often see this city as fast and overwhelming, but I grew up seeing its cultural depth through the languages on the street, food stalls, and the stories my Vietnamese and Chinese family carried with them.

Being surrounded by this kind of cultural depth shaped my own creativity. I attended an arts-focused elementary school, where I played violin, clarinet, and saxophone, while also exploring fine arts, theatre, and choir. Outside of school, tennis became another influence in my life. I grew up within walking distance of the US Open, and later worked there, which developed into a stronger appreciation for the sport. Museums also became a personal tradition of mine as well. I often find myself returning to the Met, the Whitney, and the Brooklyn Museum, where I once saw an exhibit featuring Iris van Herpen- one of my favorite designers. This sparked my own interest in sewing and garment construction.

Today, I bring this curiosity into designing experiences for people from all kinds of backgrounds. UX drew me in because it sits between so many disciplines, research, psychology, visual design, technology, and storytelling. I create products that feel human and are shaped by empathy, infusing the little things in life.
